Porto
Cristo Majorca
Porto Cristo
on the east coast is one Majorca's oldest towns, and has grow up around
a natural harbour dating back to Roman times, there is even evidence
of prehistoric settlement in the area. Porto Cristo is a fairly laid
back resort and ideal for those wishing to have a more relaxed holiday.
There is a good selection of bars and restaurants, with sea food being
a local speciality. There are also a number of clubs, which tend to
have a more Spanish feel than those in many of the other nearby resorts
in Majorca.
During
the day you can head for the small beach or take a walk around the Porto
Cristo harbour area which is home to many of the local fishing boats
as well as visiting yachts.
While on
your visit to Porto Cristo don't forget to take a look at the nearby
caves of Drac (the dragons cave) with it's huge subterranean lake and
caves of Hams which are one of the islands main tourist attractions.
Porto Cristo
is popular with families and couples and makes an excellent base to
explore the rest of the lovely island of Majorca.
